I originaly had a job offer in NY. I was working as a designer back in Isreal. But I felt like my career could not go to the highet that I wanted to in Isreal, so I decided to take that job offer in NY. But that offer I had was so terrible. So, after one week, I quit. And I started to find another job. Then, I found an apartment. I decided to stay here anyway.

(最初にNYに来たきっかけはNYでの仕事の依頼があったからです。元々、自分の生まれた国、イスラエルではデザイナーとして働いていました。でも、イスラエルではデザイナーとして自分が目標とするところに到達できないと感じていたんです。ですから、そのNYでの仕事の依頼を受けることにしました。でも、その仕事というのがびっくりするくらいひどい仕事で、たった1週間で辞めちゃいました。(笑)それから何か他の仕事はないかと探し、住むところも見つけ、とりあえずここNYで暮らしていこうと決めました。) 　

I, of course, design for my products. But I also do producing, sales, making tags, arrangeing models, and so on. I really do everything for my brand.

(もちろんデザイナーとしての仕事をしています。でも、それだけじゃなくて、プロデュースの仕事やセールス、タグを作ったり、グラフィックデザインもモデルの手配も、このブランドに関する仕事はほとんど何でもしますよ。)

I don't have my own store. Because I'm not a retail. But my products are sold in many places. I have big stores in SOHO. And my products are also sold in LA.

(いいえ、自分が経営するお店は持っていません。小売店ではないので…。しかし、私のデザインした洋服はあらゆるとこで売られています。しいてあげればSOHOで何軒か売っているお店があるし、LAでも売られていますよ。)

Yes, of cource. Actually, Japan is my NO.1 market. It's fanny because that was really one of the market that I was wanted to be in. I was always a big big fan of Japanese culture. I was really always facinated by its culture. I read books about it. I like to go to Japanese Market. I always wanted to go to Japan. And now, it's my NO.1 market. I'm so happy about it. It's like "my wish come ture".

(もちろん、知っていますよ。実は日本は今一番の市場なんです。面白いことに日本は実は私が一番進出したかったマーケットなんです。というのも私は昔から日本文化の大ファンで、いつもその文化に感銘を受けていました。日本に関する本もたくさん読みますし、日本食を売っているスーパーに行くことも好きですし、昔からずっと日本に行きたかったんです。それが今や自分の一番の市場だなんて、とても嬉しいです。まさに「夢がかなった！」という感じですね。)

I feel like NY is filling with amazing energy. It inspires you in many many way. As an artist, of cource, inspirations and energy are very important. Just walking around my neiberhood, seeing people, and seeing the building, make me feel the energy even from their Subway stations. People are really dreamy about NY. People came here to make their dreams come true. They feel like they can do it if they keep doing it, and they really want to be big. It a hardest place in the world also, but this is why people are so charenging and so amazing.

(NYはとてつもないエネルギーで溢れていると思います。そのエネルギーはいろいろな意味で人々を活気付けています。アーティストとしてももちろんですが、そういったインスピレーションはとても大事なんです。ただ近所を散歩して人々に会ったり建物を見たりするだけでも様々なエネルギーを感じさせてくれる。たとえ地下鉄の駅とかでもね。人々はとてもNYに夢を抱いていると思います。何かやり続けていればきっと成功できると。そしていつか大物になってやる、と多くの人が思っています。もちろんNYは世界で一番成功するのが難しい場所だと思います。しかし、だからこそ、人々は挑戦的で前向きなんだと思います。)

Oh, absolutely! Everytime I go away for a little while, and after two days, I feel homesick. I start thinking that I want to go back to NY. After I came back, I feel like "ok, I can braethe again." I'm a part of NY. And "iconic" is a result of living in NY, too. It's so funny because I have so many buyers come to me, and they say, "your line is so LA. Are you from LA? It's very LA." I don't really understad what they mean "it's LA", because to me, this is so NY. I don't see how it's LA. I prefer NY to LA.

(もちろんです!旅行やなんかでほんの少しNYを離れることがあると、2日も経てばすぐホームシックにかかってしまうんですよ。NYに戻りたいな、、って考え始めて。そしてようやく帰ってくることができたら、変ですけど、やっと息ができるように感じるんです。(笑)もう私自身NYの一部なんですよね。そしてこの「iconic」というブランドも私がNYに住んでいることの結果だと考えています。面白いのは、多くのバイヤーが私の洋服を見て「とてもLAっぽいですね。LAからいらっしゃったんですか？これはとてもLAらしい。」って言うんです。私には何で「LAっぽい」のか全然わかりません。だって私にとってはとても「NYらしい」と思から、、、個人的にもLAよりNYの方が好きですしね。)

I think everything is possible. Once you do, and you really follow your dreams, amazing things happens in your life. If you go with it, and if you really insist on doing it, you'll get the all things you need. I honestly believe that. Because that's what your distance to do it. And that's what you should do. Many people say, "I want to be an artist, but I can't becuase I don't have enough money for art. I've got to have a job for my life." If you really want to do something, you should go ahead and do it. Don't be afraid. I think most of people afraid of failier and they don't know what they need to do. But think about this. Like when you want to have a baby, just go for it and you'll get baby. (It's a hard thing to do, of course, but still...) Get set up and go, and you go for it. Then you'll get it. I'm sure. If you have a dream, go for it. Follow your dreams.

(私は全ての事は可能だと信じています。何かを始めて、そして本当に夢に向かって進んでいれば、すばらしいことが必ず起こるはずです。もし夢に向かって突き進んで、必ず成し遂げると信じていれば、必要なことは全て起こっていきます。私はそう信じています。だってそれが夢実現のための道であり、あなたがすべきことだと思うから。多くの人は「芸術家になりたいんだけど、お金がないし、生活するためのお金を稼がなきゃいけないし…」なんていうでしょう？でも、本当にやりたいと思うならためらわずにまず始めてみるべきだと思うんです。大抵の人は失敗を恐れたり、何をしていいかわからないと思うんです。でも、子供を産む事を考えてみてください。もちろんそれはそれで大変なことですけど、もし、子供がほしい、と思えば赤ちゃんを作って産むでしょう？変な例えかもしれませんが、やると決めたら準備して実行に移す。そうすると必ずほしいものが手に入ります。絶対、大丈夫!もし夢があるなら、まず始めることです。自分の夢を信じて突き進んでください。)
